Alfold came back down to earth following a 3 match unbeaten run with a disappointing performance against Horsham Trinity.
With Alfold suffering with players out it was still no excuse for the levels reached on Saturday, as we all know how much more we can do.
Trinity started far brighter than Alfold and it needed a formation change from manager Cooper to combat this as Trinity were getting far too much time on the ball in the midfield areas. This took a little time to adjust but slowly Alfold began to get into the game with a few good glimpses of play.
It was "Trin" however who had the better chances in the 1st half and looked the more dangerous in breaking the deadlock. The impressive Berryman up front for them always showed good movement and the back 3 of captain O'Carroll, Laney and Dwyer looked solid.
Half time 0-0
Second half and Alfold created a little more early on - possibly the best chance falling to Dan Hallett but his volley was well saved by the keeper.
With the rest of the second half best forgotten about the game looked like it was heading for a bore draw until on around 74min - Trinity broke and a dangerous cross from the wing back was met by Bailey who facing his own goal and with a striker ready to pounce behind, connected and put the ball into his own net.
Five minutes later it was 2 - again down the right hand side a cross was whipped in - half cleared and Scott Bacon side footed home to put the game out of reach.
Few positives were Graham Taylor had a good game at the back and Dan Hallett also made some a nuisance of himself at times.
Final Score 2-0
Comments: The first half was more like a chess match in the end with the formation changes from the home side and then the adjustments needed after. Unfortunately too many players were not on the money today and failed to get going at all. A couple looked thoroughly unfit, whilst others had there minds elsewhere. Disappointingly enough for the supporters who watched it looked like we were giving the 3 points away today. This wasnt the case, and we all need to step up efforts considerably for this final run in.
Next up league leaders Holbrook , away.
